James Estate Shiraz Viognier Tasting Note:
Lifted blackberry and plum nose with lifted Aromatic apricot like overtones.
The appearance is Medium to dark red in colour.
A full flavoured wine with a rich and round middle palate. Fine grain tannins contribute to the overall silky texture of this wine. Oak treatment: 12 months in 1 and 2 year old french and american hogsheads
Cellar Notes:
Viognier is often blended with Shiraz in order to raise the aromatic profile of the wine while softening aggressive tannins that young shiraz wines may exhibit. The overall effect is a silky smooth palate with great length.
Red meats wtih a flavoursome but not overpowering character will show this wine at its best. Try it with roasted lamb or veal. |
