Our Wines
At James Estate we like to do things a little bit differently. The Hunter is our home and is the source of the majority of our grapes, however there are times when just a little bit of blending can produce a better result. Mostly, our wines are Hunter but sometimes we sneak a little component of other areas into the wine just to make it interesting. Have a look at the label, we’re more than happy to tell you what we’ve done, but make sure you check every year because we also like to keep you guessing. The various ranges of James Estate wines are designed to match the price points and hopefully lifestyles that go with them. The Reserve range wines are for those who like the finer attributes of designer wines that include full bodied fruit and oak characters. These wines will benefit from some cellar ageing and develop more complex characters with time. The Estate range is an each-way bet. You can cellar them (if you can wait that long) or you can drink them now. These wines display the best attributes of fruit character that reflect the varieties they are produced from. With time they will gain bottle complexity but who can wait too long? Our On-Premise range is especially made to satisfy the needs of clubs and restaurants. The wines are subtle and easy drinking to please everyone and perfectly accompany your food choices. Good length of flavour without being over-powering. Look for them in your favourite dining venues.
